An award winning writer and filmmaker from New
York City, Ludgate's latest film, With Love, is a love letter doc revealing an inspirational vérité glimpse into NYC's outreach agency, God's Love We Deliver. After a world premier in Rome and a tour in Europe Chris took home the award for Best Director Short Form Documentary at the U.S. Premier at Queens World Film Festival. The film was just acquired by Alexander Street both in indie streaming and its Social Sciences Collection for academia. It is also available for theatrical licensing.
Ludgate’s world-traveled film, The Love Permit, continues to draw audiences and recently had the honor of being programmed near its shooting location in New York's Outdoor Summer Screenings amid the stars and nighttime skyline. The film was also curated by NYC’s Queens Museum in a celebration of local filmmakers sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Contemporary
Art Ministry in 2014.
Ludgate's multi-media editorial credits include travel & culture as an Associate Editor for GoNomad, AIR Los Angeles, and AIR Chicago, among others. His latest pieces from recent journeys to the French Loire Valley, Paris, London, Barcelona, Madrid, Tolédo, Rome, and Florence, as well as domestic destinations like Rehoboth, Lewes, New Orleans, and the vineyards of Cape May also feature his photography.
Chris graduated with honors from Baruch College with a degree in Journalism & Film. He also earned a degree in Creative
Writing & Literature. While attending school, he received four full merit scholarships, multiple scholastic awards, top drama and short fiction prizes, a volunteerism award, and an award
for Journalism Research among others.
As an avid student of theater and acting technique at Strasberg Theater Institute
in NYC and HB Studios, Chris also went on to build a dynamic resume with supporting roles in feature film, in soap operas, in multiple roles in
NYC’s theater scene, and in short form film. He also appeared in commercial print, on multiple book covers, TV ads, fitness videos, and runway. Ludgate resides in his native New York in the company of family, close friends, his cats, and his keyboard focused on creative endeavors.
